Supporting continual professional development
We help to keep learning professionals up to speed with both subject-matter expertise and their pedagogical skills.
Staff development programmes
ESIS works with education providers to create highly effective staff development programmes that can boost skills and, where required, contribute towards their continual professional development goals. We work with clients to agree the topics to be taught and then provide the best-match trainers for each of the topics – and support the provider throughout the programme delivery process. A core part of the value we offer is to model learning on best practice – techniques proven within other organisations.
We find that education for learning professionals works best when it is participative – undertaken ‘with people, not at them’.
Creating a team with shared goals
A great way of helping learning professionals to increase their skills is to work with them in peer workshops where everyone can contribute. From presentation, we quickly move to discussion and exploration of strategies – guided, expertly managed sessions that involve and engage. We then move on to agreeing implementation strategies – and follow this with on-the-job evaluation and coaching to affirm and improve skills, ‘closing the loop’ to ensure that identified goals have been met.
Improving specific skills areas
For when education providers want to target internal learning on specific skills.
Bespoke learning and support
Sometimes, education providers want to address specific skills challenges with highly focused interventions. For example, assessing how effectively critical skills such as English and maths are embedded in learning programmes. We can work alongside teachers during classes, observing behaviours, seeing issues – and then helping to resolve these rapidly, in a structured workshop that fosters professional peer discussion – going from identifying issues to resolving them (and measuring improvement) quickly and seamlessly.
